Estudio de las finanzas rurales y su incidencia en los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible en la Provincia de Chimborazo, año 2023

Abstract

In Ecuador, the necessary importance is not given to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, much less within the province of Chimborazo; in the financial field, there are no studies that provide a vision of the impact that rural finance can have on the fulfillment of these goals. Therefore, this research aimed to conduct a "Study of rural finance and its impact on the Sustainable Development Goals in the province of Chimborazo, year 2023. The methodology implemented was based on a qualitative and quantitative approach, a non-experimental design because the described variables were not manipulated and a determined development time; the study population was the inhabitants of the rural areas, with whom the respective information was obtained through methods, techniques, and instruments, with the help of a survey applied to the inhabitants of the different communities and several interviews directed to the prefecture, parish GAD and the savings and credit cooperative. This methodology determined that there is no interest in the SDGs in the province, government agencies need to provide follow-up and monitoring, and rural finance, the famous and solidarity economy sector in the province is given very little importance. In this way, it is concluded that the province needs to maintain adequate monitoring of the SDGs, which prevents the implementation of projects or strategies according to the real needs of the rural sector from a rural finance approach. Thus, a matrix of globally recognized strategies with positive effects is proposed that will adequately contribute to the development of rural areas.
