In the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition of the Animal Sciences School, of the ESPOCH, located 2740 m.a.s.l. with a average temperature of 12,80 o C, humidity 66% and annual precipitation of 723,60 mm the in vitro digestibility of the alfalfa variety WL was evaluated in different stages (35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70 days), the study of the fenologic stage was to differentiate some production considerations and nutritive quality of the plant. The floración is not an indicator to carry out the harves t, 11,58% was obtained to the day 63 that which was related with the rate of leaf/steam 0,58 this affects the quality; the maximum production of DM at 56 day with 737,86 g/m 2 had high significance p<0,01. The alfalfa expressed its nutritive potential in th e first fenologic stage, the concentration of CP was best in the 35 day with 21,67% decrease slowly until 63 day, the CF is inversely proportional to the CP, the concentration is increased from 29,02 to 33,19% between 35 to 63 day, the contribution of ME i n MJ/kg DM was best to the 35 day with 10,21 decreasing with the age but the quality interpreted as its metabolicidad didn't have differences in function of the age. The laboratory methods Telly &Terry and Pepsin - Cellulose have their support to simulate t he digestive processes at laboratory. The DMIVD (Telly & Terry) with 75,73% in the 35 day is the biggest value with a statistic difference p<0,01 decrease as the age, the OMIVD has the same tendency with 73,71 to 64,47% in the 35 and 63 days respectively . The CDMIVD (Pepsin - Cellulose) had a lightly value 79.60% obtained by the other method, however the tendency is similar but with a high statistical significance p<0,01, the COMIVD had identical tendency to the DM digestibility (p <0,01); on the 70 day wh en studying these variables there is a little increment of the digestibilidad due to the new plant, it is necessary to have data from in vivo or standards samples to correct the values in vitro, the correlation of the DMIVD with CDMIVD was r = 0,820 and OM IVMD with COMIVD had a correlation r = 0,793. The association degree between variable fenologics, quality and nutritive value allowed to carry out mathematical models of prediction.es_ES
