Modelo para desarrollar un sistema de información con enfoque a procesos de negocio

Abstract

A model to develop information systems focusing on business processes has been carried out. In order to do it, a model which used BPM (Business Process Management) standards and tools was designed. This model was applied on a critical process at the Ecuadorian Army Corps of Engineers which is public procurement process. A simulation environment was utilized in order to test the proposed model. It helped determine that the use of the model focusing on business processes improves the efficiency of public procurement process, allows people to have a more adequate access to information of those processes, and offers some mechanisms that are ideal for monitoring and controlling the process. It is concluded, therefore, that the model focusing on business processes facilitates the management of construction of the Army Corps of Engineers to improve the selected process. For this reason, it is recommended to keep the focus on the systematization of business process of this and other processes of the Army Corps of Engineers.
