Análisis tecnológico – económico del impacto social de las plataformas de redes 4G vs las plataformas de redes 3G en el Cantón Quito

Abstract

It was held an economic-technological analysis of the 4G phone networks Long Term Evolution (LTE) in contrast with 3G technology in the Quito canton offered by the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT). In order to define the better technology they were considered variables such as: time of answers ping, latency, loss of packet and download speed. In order to the economic analysis it was consider the variables: The plan cost, minutes cost and data plan to define the better proposal. To the social impact it was developed an applying instrument to an population of 384 cellular phone consumers in which is consider variables such as: the age range, work activity, handset technological characteristics, phone plans, technology, additional services, and service satisfaction. Throughout the technological comparison between 3G and 4G it was determined that phone networks 4G are highly significant as it is recorded response time lower in a relation from 3 to 1. With the economic analysis it was determined that 4G phone plans are practically equal and until minor than 3G, this is consequence for 3G phone service it is no longer offered by CNT. In consequence the social impact is defined by the population which is in range between 20 and 30 years who are belong to an active economical social group, which use the phone cellular networks to the contents web management for which choose the 4G LTE like the better alternative that offers this phone services company. It is recommended to expand the analysis involving other companies which offers the 4G advanced technology services.
