Estudio de las herramientas web 2.0 en el proceso pedagógico de estudiantes de educación básica superior. Caso práctico Unidad Educativa Pacífico Villagómez del cantón Guano.

Abstract

At present, the technological means are of great importance in the students’ teaching-learning process, therefore it generates the need to know its benefits and applicability of the Web 2.0 tools. The present research is titled the study of Web 2.0 tools in the students’ pedagogical process of higher basic education, in the Pacífico Villagómez educational unit of Guano canton. The aim is to propose that the students of eighth year Basic Education have didactic alternatives, to be used in the contents of the mathematics area for this, it was based on the teachers’ guidance to identifying their importance and usefulness in the educational field to generate meaningful learning based on social constructivism. The variables were defined and the teacher’s theoretical framework and pedagogical guide was structured, related to Web 2.0 tools. It was used the scientific method to identify theoretical and practical knowledge about the Web 2.0 tools that leads to the pedagogical process. The inductive and deductive method allowed to identify the students’ particular and general facts. The population was structured with 6 teachers and 30 students to whom a survey was applied, supported by a questionnaire, with which data tables and statistical graphs were prepared to analyze and interpret results and to end with the verification of the hypothesis. The delivered results have shown the teachers that do not use technological means, have an arithmetic mean of 57%. The students that applied traditional schemes they reached an arithmetic average of 81% of difficulties in mathematical applications, and the students that used the Web 2.0 tools, they have reduced to 8% of difficulties. The research paper concludes the teachers can through the guidance and training, to develop practical processes by using Web 2.0 tools, as well as videos, chats, tests, tasks, forums. It also identifies the students’ better knowledge assimilation, by strengthening their academic performance; consequently it is recommended that teachers must be kept up-to-date in the management of Web 2.0 tools; In addition they must generate interactive activities by applying active pedagogical techniques, which facilitate their experiences and intellectual development.
