The forage potential and nutritional composition of the OM-22 Cuba (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach x Pennisetum glaucum L.) in different ages of cut in the RAE was evaluated. The trial took place at INIAP-EECA where the study factor was the defoliation intervals: 30, 45 and 60 days. 16 repetitions per treatment were used which were subjected to a DBCA; the variables were subjected to an ADEVA, the measures to the Tukey test at 95%, in addition a regression and correlation analysis was performed. In the agronomic assessment the techniques described by Toledo (1982) and Canfield (1941), AOAC (2012) for proximal analysis and cell walls were applied, for in vitro digestibility was based on the methodology of Van Soest (1994). Agronomic variables had highly significant statistical differences; registering the highest values at 60 days except in the area coverage, obtaining at this age a height of 2,42 meters, 68,56 stems/plant, 49,35% basal coverage, 102,46 t/ha green fodder and 12,43 t/ha dry fodder, there is a high regression and correlation between agronomic variables and cutting age. In bromatological analysis and cell walls, the best results were achieved at 30 days; highly significant statistical differences were presented in protein (14,29%), FDA (34,67%) and FDN (56,29%), while in the ash fraction (19,04%) fat (2,84%) significant differences were recorded. In the IVD, highly significant differences were reported, with 30 days of defoliation having the highest digestibility of dry matter (71,20%) and organic matter (74,31%). With this it is affirmed that the cutting period passed, the nutritional variables suffered a decrease in their content. Concluding that the best cutting age at 60 days because there is a balance between the productive and nutritional part. It is recommended that studies be conducted at older ages of regrowth to know their compartment.es_ES
