Plan de salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural inmaterial, ámbito conocimientos y usos relacionados con la naturaleza, subámbito medicina tradicional en el cantón Pallatanga, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to elaborate a Safeguarding Plan for the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), area of knowledge and uses related to nature, traditional medicine subarea of Pallatanga canton, Chimborazo province. In order to achieve the general objective, bibliographic reviews were developed as a starting point, mainly the Plan de Desarrollo y Ordenamiento Territorial (PDyOT), followed it was interviewed people dedicated to the practice of traditional medicine, and all the information collected was analyzed and systematized through the registration forms of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC). Subsequently, the interviewees evaluated the manifestations that were registered with each of them. It was developed the SWOT matrix, critical nodes, key success factors, stakeholder analysis, and stakeholder mapping. Then, it was proposed the mission, vision, strategic objectives, strategies, programs, and projects, and, finally, it was developed the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for each established program. Of the 37 manifestations registered, 19 were in current status (MV), while 15 were in vulnerable (MVU), and three were in highly vulnerable (MAV). The Safeguard Plan consisted of four programs and the four projects are oriented towards the valuation, appropriation, revitalization, transmission, and dissemination of ancestral practices of traditional medicine. It is recommended to implement a Safeguard Plan that will eventually allow the development of health tourism.
