Abstract

This research aimed to determine the economic impact on the community of Warints and Yawi concerning the investments of Lowell Mineral Exploration Ecuador S.A. Different techniques, methods, and research instruments were used and observed to recognize the place under investigation. These surveys allowed for obtaining relevant and truthful information. The economic impact was measured by identifying where the mining company has carried out the exploration phase. The information required for measuring the economic impact was linked to employability, health, education, roads, and infrastructure. The result was that the destination with the most significant investment was education and infrastructure in recent years, concluding that the economic and social impact in the communities since 2019 has been positive. Their families increased their income by an average of USD 848.33 in 2021. The community has managed to meet their basic needs at a social level, thus improving their quality of life. It is recommended that the Canadian company have a permanent dialogue with the communities above and the surrounding communities so that social conflicts do not exist and they can continue making investments in different components, primarily serving the communities' development
