Gestión de tránsito como metodología para mitigar la congestión vehicular en las vías del centro de la ciudad de Nueva Loja, periodo 2021.

Abstract

In the center of the city of Nueva Loja, specifically at Quito Avenue and 12 de Febrero Street and at 12 de Febrero Street and Jorge Añazco Street, congestion is identified due to the lack of a hierarchy plan that allows traffic to flow correctly. In this context, the present investigation arises, whose objective is to analyze mobility management alternatives to avoid congestion in the mentioned area, for which a descriptive investigation was used through the collection of information through observation sheets for counting by type of vehicle, queue length, distribution by time, and traffic light cycle. The data was obtained on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 6:00 am to 08:00 pm. The results show that 123,670 motorized vehicles transit, most of which are light vehicles and motorcycles that travel along Quito Avenue in both directions. The plan implied prioritizing the routes that were considered based on the number of vehicles.
