Diseño y análisis de un silo de pared corrugada con fondo cónico para almacenamiento de granos con capacidad de 100 toneladas.

Abstract

This research is based on the design and analysis of a corrugated wall silo with conical bottom for grain storage with a capacity of 100 tons, centred on the fact that there is no standard in the country that allows the design of this type of structure, consequently the design was carried out using the standards EN 1991-4:2011, EN 1993-4-1:2007, AS- 3774: 1996, AISC 360-10, the ASCE 7-10, NEC 2014 for this initially the conceptualization of the silo is determined and the best alternative is selected from among 3 solutions, then through the materialization design the structure was dimensioned, considering galvanized steel plates of 1220x2440 mm with a thickness of 3 mm, being corrugated in the cylindrical part and flat in the hopper and lid, the silo drawings were modeled in SolidWorks, to be later used in the validation by means of the finite element method with ANSYS WORKBENCH where it was considered that the combination of unloading + earthquake + wind is the most critical, obtaining a maximum von Mises stress of 272 MPa in the connection where the elastic resistance of the bolt is 896 MPa; Furthermore, the support was validated using SAP2000 where it was determined that the D/C ratio is 0. 666, which guarantees an optimum performance of the whole structure. Finally, a computer application is presented that allows the pre-design of a silo, giving the thickness of the sheet metal, the amount of material to be used in the construction and a cost that allows the user to have an idea of the price that it would cost to manufacture a structure of this type.
