Relación entre la adecuación alimentaria, estado nutricional y madurez emocional de niños, niñas de cuatro a cinco años del Centro de Salud Gonzales Suárez, de diciembre 2021 a junio 2022.

Abstract

The objective of the research work was to determine the relationship between dietary adequacy, nutritional status, and emotional maturity of children aged four to five years at the Gonzales Suárez Health Center from December 2021 to June 2022. An observational study was applied of the cross-sectional type, carried out on 100 boys and girls aged 4 to 5 years. The study variables were age, sex, ethnicity, mother's education, dietary adequacy, nutritional status, emotional maturity. The main results obtained were in the percentage of nutritional adequacy of the diet consumed by boys and girls, it was found an adequate consumption of calories, carbohydrates and total fats. On the other hand, less protein was consumed. In nutritional status there are a total of 23 children with chronic and severe malnutrition in relation to the Height/Age indicator. In addition, with the Weight/Age indicator there were a total of 4 children with global malnutrition; and in relation to the BMI/Age indicator, there are 29 overweight and obese children with a greater predisposition in the indigenous population. Furthermore, the indigenous ethnic population presented a lower degree of emotional maturity than the mestizo population (24%) and (38%). On the other hand, the relationship between the nutritional status and the degree of emotional maturity with the Height/Age indicator was obtained, a statistically significant relationship was obtained (p<0.001), meaning that for each unit of deviation of the height for age the estimate increases the degree of emotional maturity (2.50). There was no statistically significant relationship with the other indicators and with the linear regression models not adjusted with the sociodemographic data. It is concluded that the nutritional status with the Height for Age indicator is directly associated with the estimation of the degree of emotional maturity of children and girls aged 4 to 5 years.
